What Sets This Practice Apart

We work on fewer matters than most. We explain more than most. And we do not take on cases we cannot describe honestly.

Six Reasons Clients Choose bodhicoud

Each of these reflects a deliberate choice about how we practise, not a marketing position.

Thai Civil Court Experience

Our principal has appeared in the Bangkok Civil Court for fifteen years on personal injury matters. This is not a general practice that occasionally handles injuries — it is the primary focus of our work.

Fixed, Stated Fees

Each service carries a published price. There are no hourly billing surprises, no retainer held against uncertain work. You know the cost before we begin, and the scope is written.

English Practice in Thai Courts

All client communication is conducted in English. Our filings are prepared in Thai to the standard required by Thai courts. Visitors and expatriates are not disadvantaged by the language of the proceedings.

Honest Assessment First

We tell clients when a matter is unlikely to succeed. This is less comfortable in the short term, but it prevents them from spending money and time on proceedings that will not produce a result.

Limited Caseload by Design

We accept a limited number of new matters at any time. This allows a qualified lawyer — not a paralegal — to be personally familiar with the details of your situation throughout.

Realistic Timelines

We describe what each stage of a claim typically involves, how long it takes, and what decisions will need to be made. We do not manage expectations by omitting inconvenient information.

Expertise in Thai Personal Injury Law

Personal injury law in Thailand operates within the Civil and Commercial Code framework. Claims require a clear understanding of how Thai courts assess liability, causation, and damages — concepts that do not map precisely onto common law systems familiar to international visitors.

Our lawyers are qualified under Thai law, have practised exclusively in civil matters, and bring specific experience to the three service areas we offer. We do not offer general legal representation outside these areas.

Thai Bar qualified practitioners
Direct Bangkok Civil Court experience
Focus on three clearly defined service areas
Medical negligence reviewed by legally qualified specialist
Insurance correspondence drafted to Thai insurer standards

Client Service That Adjusts to Your Situation

Personal injury situations rarely unfold at a convenient pace. A visitor may need to return home before a matter is resolved. A resident may be managing recovery alongside legal proceedings. A client reviewing a medical negligence matter may be processing a difficult experience at the same time as providing documents.

We adjust our communication accordingly. We do not send automated chasers. We do not press for decisions before you are ready. We respond to written enquiries within one working day and explain our reasoning, not just our conclusions.

One working day written response commitment
All communication in English
Remote support available for visitors who have returned home
Paced communication that respects recovery
No pressure to proceed at any stage

Value Through Clarity, Not Volume

Our fees are published. ฿3,950 for a well-prepared insurance demand letter. ฿11,800 for a thorough initial review of a medical negligence matter. ฿29,500 for road traffic accident claim representation through to settlement or court. These figures represent the full scope of each service as described — not an entry point to a longer engagement.

Where additional work arises beyond the original scope, we discuss and agree on cost before proceeding. There are no automatic extensions or unstated extras.

Published fixed fees for all three services
Written scope for each engagement
No retainer or advance billing beyond scope
Additional work agreed separately, in advance
Thai Baht pricing — no currency conversion uncertainty

What We Do That Others Typically Don't

The Medical Negligence Initial Review

Most practices either take a case on contingency or decline it. We offer a fixed-fee initial review that tells you the merits honestly — without committing you to full representation. This service exists because the honest early answer saves far more than it costs.

The Standalone Claim Letter Service

For matters appropriate to insurer-level resolution, we prepare the document and step back. We do not inflate the work by insisting on managing proceedings when the client can do that themselves with a strong letter in hand.

The Claim Timeline Explained

We walk each client through what typically happens at each stage of their type of matter — from the initial incident record to settlement or court — including how long each stage typically takes. This is offered at the outset, not after the first invoice.

Remote-Capable Representation

Documents are gathered and communications handled digitally. Where a power of attorney is appropriate, we explain the process clearly. Visitors who cannot return to Thailand are not excluded from pursuing a legitimate claim.
